Batakunku Association, BA, was founded in 2013 in the Gambia, and its purpose is to promote Finnish- African cultural exchange, particularly in the fields of recycling, nature, agriculture, music, art, films and charity.
The association helps its members in art and music projects in the Gambia and elsewhere in Africa. It organizes music teaching lessons and assists locals to produce ethnic music instruments for sale. BA helps Batakunku villagers to construct small-scale structures, such as storage sheds. Villagers are taught to construct fences, recycle plastic and other useful waste, which can be used for art purposes. The association has administrative offices near Batakunku village in the Gambia and in Köyliö, Finland. The association’s official languages are English and Finnish and its acronym is BA. The association is, at the moment, unregistered. |
